Orville and Wilbur Wright didn’t start out as world famous flyers, they were ordinary boys. When they were young, their father gave them a toy helicopter. One day it broke. With help from their mother and father, the boys built another, thus beginning their encounter with flight.

After a failed attempt in the printing industry, they opened a bicycle shop. This bicycle shop became the foundation for their first plane. They first built a kite to test their control on flight but soon decided to build a full glider. Once this was achieved, they created the first wind tunnel to test its aerodynamics.
